Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,

During Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj’s 35th Barsi in 2010, sevadaars at Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar (West Bromwich, UK) received a phone call from a elderly woman (Mata Ji). This Mata Ji’s family were very close with Sant Ji Maharaj and on occasions where Sant Ji Maharaj were free, they would especially go to this Mata Ji’s house. The husband of this Mata Ji would regularly drive Sant Ji Maharaj around during their UK tour.

The phone conversation is as follows:
Mata Ji: “Is this the asthaan of Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj?”
Sevadaar: “Hanji, yes it is.”
The Mata Ji begins to cry.

Sevadaar: “Mata Ji, why are you crying? What’s the matter?”
Mata Ji: “Will Sant Ji Maharaj’s Barsi be celebrated this year?”
Sevadaar: “Hanji, it will.”
The Mata Ji begins to cry again.

Sevadaar: “Mata Ji, why are you crying? What’s the matter?”
Mata Ji: “I have no means of transport, is it possible I could get a lift to the Barsi?”
Sevadaar: “No problem Mata Ji, I’m sure we could get you a lift.”

The Mata Ji begins to cry yet again!
Sevadaar: “Mata Ji, what’s the matter? Is something troubling you? What’s wrong? Please explain why you keep crying?”

Mata Ji: “I am crying because what Sant Ji Maharaj said to me, has come true! 35 years ago, I asked Sant Ji Maharaj whether I would ever get the opportunity to see them again and they told me that one day there will be an Asthaan built in their memory and through doing seva at the Asthaan, you will get Sant Ji Maharaj’s blessed vision (Darshan). I then asked, how will I able to get there to which Sant Ji Maharaj replied – the sevadaars of the Asthaan will pick you up and drop you off. This is why I am crying, after 35 years, the Bachan of Sant Ji Maharaj has come true!”

Sadly, this Mata Ji passed away earlier this year, however her Husband is currently in contact with the Asthaan and it’s Sevadaars. Gurdwara Sachkhand Isher Darbar (West Bromwich, West Midlands, UK, B71 1AQ) is opened in the remembrance of Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj (Rara Sahib Wale) and aims to maintain the much needed respect of the eternal living Guru – Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. The Asthaan is free from any political affiliations as there is no committee and all sevadaars do Nishkam Seva. The Asthaan has 24/7 Akhand Paaths Monday to Sunday and is open 24 hours a day all year round in order to all to seek blessings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj, regardless of colour, creed, caste or religion.
