This blog is a humble attempt at showcasing some events in the life of Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj (Rara Sahib Wale) and highlighting the worldwide seva done by Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji (Pehowa Wale) and Sant Baba Mohan Singh Ji (Pehowa Wale)
This week’s Saakhi is a continuation from the #89th Saakhi posted on this website. Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji (Pehowa Wale) spoke of Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj’s glory by blessing the Sangat with the following Bachan: “We often see many Sant Mahapurkh Barsi’s being celebrated but the Barsi of Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj (Rara Sahib Wale) is something special. The Barsi program begins by being commemorated firstly at Gurdwara Karamsar Rara Sahib on the 24th,25th and 26th of August, whereafter different Mahapurkh’s commemorate in turns at their own Asthaan’s, all the way up to October. I believe that worldwide, Sant Ji Maharaj’s Barsi is celebrated at 400-500 Asthaan’s worldwide!”
But your days are few-you have grown weary, and now your body has grown old. ||1||
It is very surprising for human beings such as ourselves for someone to predict their coming death, however for Pooran Brahmgiani Mahapurkhs, life and death is within their own hands. If they wish to, they can increase or decrease their life span. An example of this is when upon the endless requests from the Sangat, Sant Baba Karam Singh Ji Hoti Mardan Wale increased their lifespan for another two years and instead Sant Baba Laal Singh Ji left their body to ascend to Sachkhand. Sant Baba Attar Singh Ji (Reru Sahib Wale) also told the Sangat a year before that their time was near.

In Sant Ji Maharaj’s final days, they were very close with Sardar Suddaghar Singh Roonmi whose house Sant Ji Maharaj chose to pass away in. (61 Crowther Rd, Wolverhampton.) One day, Sardar Suddaghar Singh Ji alongside their family, thanked Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji for being blessed with the opportunity to serve them and the Sangat in such a way. The whole family requested Sant Ji Maharaj for the opportunity to do such Seva on a regular basis. Sant Ji Maharaj replied: “Bibi! It is easy to ask for something, but very hard to commit to it! One day, there will be so much Sangat that you will be shocked!” A day later, Bibi Ji asked Sant Ji Maharaj: “All Sants have now made their own Asthaan’s here in the UK. Will you too make an Asthan for the Sangat to do Seva/Simran and remember you?”
Sant Ji Maharaj replied: “Bibi Ji, for you, this very house will be the biggest remembrance of our coming. One day, masses of Sangat will come here and through coming here will remember us. It is through you that the Sangat will remember us. Until the end of time, this very house will be a place of immense respect amongst the global Sikh Sangat.”
