Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio

Ujjagar Singh Battu, a tailor from the village of Daburji was a loyal devotee of Sant Ji Maharaj and Rara Sahib. Alongside his daughter Surinder Kaur, Ujjagar Singh attended the Annual Kirtan Divaan that was going to take place on Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj’s Prakash Divas at Sant Ashram Dhablan. It was on a yearly basis that thousands would attend Dhablan to celebrate Sant Ji Maharaj’s Prakash Divas. This Smagam still takes place however it is now celebrated at the native village of Sant Ji Maharaj – Alowal.

On this blessed day, Surinder Kaur was looking forward to reading a poem written by her father in front of the whole Sangat, however due to there not being enough time she was unable to do so. Surinder Kaur decided that she would read the poem to the Sangat on the next Dasmi Divan of Sant Ji Maharaj at Dhablan. However, before Dasmi had arrived, Surinder Kaur unfortunately had become deaf and dumb (unable to speak). Surinder Kaur alongside her father Ujjagar Singh came to visit Sant Ji Maharaj. Ujjagar Singh grabbed the Charan of Sant Ji Maharaj and kept crying and crying, Sant Ji Maharaj reassured Ujjagar Singh that Maharaj would do Kirpa, however Ujjagar Singh could not maintain his tears and continued crying.

Sant Ji Maharaj’s Sevadar then told Surinder Kaur to let go of Sant Ji Maharaj and get up as there was more Sangat waiting to meet with Sant Ji Maharaj. Sant Ji Maharaj told the Sevadar: “This girl is deaf and cannot speak, what can you say to her? It’s not as if she can hear you…” Sant Ji Maharaj then blessed Surinder Kaur and reassured her that Guru Maharaj would bless her. After Sant Ji Maharaj gave this Bachan, Surinder Kaur could hear again. Surinder Kaur placed both her hands on her ears and gave the signal that she was able to hear, however she was unable to express her full happiness as she could still not talk.

Sant Ji Maharaj then told Surinder Kaur to recite Sri Mool Mantar Sahib. Sant Ji Maharaj lead Sri Mool Mantar and instructed Surinder Kaur to repeat as follows. Then suddenly, as if she had been electrocuted, Surinder Kaur was able to talk. Surinder Kaur began reciting various Shabad’s from Gurbani very loudly amongst the whole Sangat – witnessing this, many members of the Sangat were amazed and their faith in Guru Sahib and Sant Ji Maharaj was strengthened.

Similarly to this, Bhai Kartar Singh Ji (Hari Jan)’s five year old son was also unable to speak and so he invited Sant Ji Maharaj to his house. After hearing his request, Sant Ji Maharaj remained silent. After a few moments Sant Ji Maharaj gave Bhai Kartar Singh Ji’s boy five ‘Lechiya’ and the upon eating them the boy was able to speak again…

Dhan Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj…

Please forgive us for any mistakes…
