It was summer time and Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj (Rara Sahib Wale) were seated on their chair amongst the Sangat. A woman approached Santi Ji Maharaj with her hair open and she was vigorously shaking her head. Sant Ji Maharaj watched as the woman got closer and said “It appears as though the drunken ghost has arrived!”

The woman continued in this state and later bowed to Sant Ji Maharaj. Sant Ji Maharaj then advised the woman to get up and go sit amongst the women in the room. A few days later, this woman arrived again at a similar time and was seen by the Sangat. The woman was seen wiping the dust of the shoes of the Sangat and uttering the following from her mouth: “Sangat Ji, please bless me with the darshan of Maharaj and the dust of your feet…”

One woman approached this woman and asked her to explain what was wrong with her that day and why Sant Ji Maharaj referred to her as a drunken ghost. The woman paused and further explained everything…

The woman explained that she used to live in Calcutta and at one time, Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji (Nanaksar Wale) had arrived in Calcutta to carry out Gurmat Prachar. During this Gurmat Prachar, Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji (Nanaksar Wale) were taking Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj through the town. During this ‘Paavan Asvaari’ this woman’s husband who was drunk, began dancing and jumping up and down infront of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. Many Singhs tried to stop the drunk man from doing what he was doing but to no avail. Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji (Nanaksar Wale) couldn’t withstand this disrespect of Guru Maharaj Ji any longer and said ‘Get out the way, you ghost!”

The next day when this man was no longer intoxicated, an elder explained to him what Sant Nanaksar Wale had said to him and warned him of the implications of Mahapurkh Bachan. The elder explained to the man  that he should try his best to ask for forgiveness regardless of whether he achieves anything or not. The man cried to Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji (Nanaksar Wale) and begged for forgiveness. Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji (Nanaksar Wale) felt a sense of pity for this man and so said; “What we have said cannot be resolved. You must endure the punishment of disrespecting Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj when you enter the life form of a ghost. It is after that, Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji (Rara Sahib Wale) who will forgive you for this sin…”

The woman explained that when her husband eventually passed away, his spirit entered her body and consequently gave her a lot of grief and pain. The woman explained that when Sant Ji Maharaj referred to her as a ‘drunken ghost’ it was there and then that she was relieved from spirit of her husband who was there after forgiven. Blessed are both Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj (Rara Sahib Wale) and Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj (Nanaksar Kaleran Wale)…

Please forgive us for any mistakes…
