Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,
One time, whilst at Gurdwara Karamsar, Rara Sahib – Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj was feeling very ill to the extent that they were not willing to leave their Bhora Sahib.
Sant Baba Kishan Singh Ji Maharaj (Shotte Maharaj) had a tendency to make jokes in most situations and in doing so would always keep the Sangat in high spirits and laughing. Sant Baba Kishan Singh Ji asked Sant Ji Maharaj as to what was wrong. Sant Ji Maharaj explained that they were feeling ill. Sant Baba Kishan Singh Ji then said: “Be strong, you are a Jatt! (in a joking manner) Look at all the Sangat that is waiting for you outside…”
Sant Ji Maharaj arose and left the Bhora Sahib. When entering outside, the Sangat were all gathered in large numbers and were pushing each other in order to get as close to Sant Ji Maharaj as possible. Sant Ji Maharaj sat on their chair outside the Bhora Sahib for half an hour and engaged in Gurmat Veechar with the Sangat that had come. After half an hour, Sant Ji Maharaj arose and said :“These are the special moments that you will remember for times to come. You will look back and cry at these moments…”
“I have done what I need to do with this body, it is no longer of any use to me, my body is now the Sangats. The Sangat may do what they wish with it. I live to serve the Sangat.”
Whether or not their body was physically able to cope with carrying out meditation and service, Sant Ji Maharaj dedicated their lives to doing so. Even until their last day on this earth, Sant Ji Maharaj practised their duty of Nirbaan Kirtan Updesh entrusted into them by Akaal Purakh Waheguru.
Please forgive us for any mistakes.
