Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,
Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj (Rara Sahib Wale) at one point stayed at their Sant Ashram in Hapur (Uttra-Pradesh) for 45 days. It is said that in these 45 days, 200 individuals would come meet with Sant Ji Maharaj per day and ask for their wishes to be completed.
A group of women approached Sant Ji Maharaj and spoke of their pain. One woman in particular explained that she was unable to give birth to children and was crying for this blessing to be given. Sant Ji Maharaj asked her what her husband does for a living. The women explained that ther husbands steal cattle. She then explained that the animals are used to sell for profit, meat, eggs and milk.
Sant Ji Maharaj asked what is done with the offspring of the animals that they steal. The woman explained that they do not interfere with the offspring and so eventually they die. Sant Ji Maharaj explained that this is the same reason as to why the woman was unable to give birth. The women astonished asked: “Why am I to blame? It’s our husbands who do the crime, not us.” Sant Ji Maharaj insisted the men be stopped from doing so, however the women explained that they had already tried to on a numerous amount of occasions, without any success.
Sant Ji Maharaj said “If you are unable to do anything else, make sure you do not eat anything from the cattle. All products that are produced from the milk of the cows and buffalos, you must ensure that you do not have any of these, you must hate this from the bottom of your heart and despise the thought of it.”
After a years time, the woman returned and told Sant Ji Maharaj that she had successfully given birth. And so, the message to be learnt from this Saakhi is that if we desire happiness, comfort and pleasure we must commit actions which adhere to this. The concept of karma works as such, only those who commit good actions will receive ‘Sukh’.
Please forgive us for any mistakes.
