Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,

In 1940, Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj was present in Lahore (Pakistan – before the partition of India and Pakistan). In Lahore there was a Fakeer who had passed away. Before his death, the Fakeer had the following written on his gravestone before passing- “Musaafir, Kudhaa, please liberate me from this burial.”

In those days, Sant Ji Maharaj used to travel by either bicycle or horse. Sant Ji Maharaj approached this gravestone and saw there was a hand pump there. Sant Ji Maharaj washed their feet, hands and face. Sant Ji Maharaj gathered drops of water within their hands and read the shabad –

Where there is no mother, father, children, friends or siblings –

ਮਨ ਊਹਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਹਾਈ

O my mind, there, only the Naam, the Name of the Lord, shall be with you as your help and support.
Sant Ji Maharaj splashed the drops of water on the gravestone – the gravestone broke into pieces and a light emerged from within it – the soul of the Fakeer who had wished for liberation as his last wish, had rose and joint with the eternal Lord Waheguru.
Please forgive us for any mistakes.
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio
