Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,

There was once a family of Sikhs who had a lot of devotion for Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj (Rara Sahib Wale).

It just so happened that the lone son of this family had become severely ill and Sant Ji Maharaj were on tour to South Africa. The family decided to take their son to the family doctor and  seek medication. The doctor was a  Naastik (atheist) and knew of this family’s devotion towards Sant Ji Maharaj. Upon arrival of the family, the doctor mockingly said to the family “If Sant Ji Maharaj is so great as you say, why don’t you take your ill son to them? Surely he can cure them, what use am I, a Naastik, to you?”

Upon hearing this the mother of the child felt offended. She replied “Well if you doubt the power and capabilities of Sant Ji Maharaj, then I promise you, Sant Ji Maharaj will be the one to cure the child no one else!”

The doctor came to his senses. Upon realising the severity of the child’s health the doctor asked the woman to calm down and to understand how serious the case was. He apologised for making a joke of such a serious matter.

The mother refused to come to terms. She argued that if you’ve doubted Sant Ji Maharaj then you will be proven wrong. At this point, even her husband was beginning to tell her to come to senses and allowed the doctor to treat the child. She refused and took the child, whose health was beginning to deteriorate even more, home.

That same night, Sant Ji Maharaj came to the woman (whilst being on tour at South Africa at the same time!) The woman felt very satisfied at the fact that her devotion had become complete and that her child would be cured. Sant Ji Maharaj told the woman that they don’t have much time and that she will need to co-operate as soon as possible in order for the child to be cured. She insisted on calling her husband first so that she could show him that Sant Ji Maharaj had arrived.

Sant Ji Maharaj gave the woman ‘lechiya’ and told her to mix them in milk and give it to the ill boy.

The woman ran towards her husband in order to tell him of the appearance of Sant Ji Maharaj. Her husband scolded her for waking him up in the middle of the night and told her that it was impossible for Sant Ji Maharaj to be in their house as they were in South Africa. As her husband entered the room where Sant Ji Maharaj was – Sant Ji Maharaj had disappeared. The woman then put the lechiya in the milk and immediately the boy was cured!

2 weeks later Sant Ji Maharaj returned from their tour of South Africa and were seated on their chair in Dhablan. The woman had come with her family and at first sight saw Jathedar Sant Mohinder Singh Ji (Jarg Sahib Wale). Jathedar Ji played ‘Dholki’ with Sant Ji Maharaj for 40 years.

The woman told Jathedar Ji of her encounter with Sant Ji Maharaj. Jathedar Ji advised the woman to keep quiet about what had happened and told her that Sant Ji Maharaj doesn’t like such things mentioned in the public. She didn’t listen. She began to shout as loud as she could to Sant Ji Maharaj and narrated the story as it had happened. Sant Ji Maharaj appeared to be upset at the fact that she was mentioning this story and began to shout at her.

Sant Ji Maharaj

Sant Ji Maharaj began to say, “What are you talking about? We were on tour in South Africa, how could we have possibly been in 2 places at once? Do we look like some kind of ghost to you?”

I do not seek power, and I do not seek liberation. My mind is in love with Your Lotus Feet.
To conclude, Sant Mahapurkh (holy beings) are capable of doing things which are beyond our level of understanding. Everything Sant’s do, is for the benefit of the world – as that is the reason for their coming into this world. Sant Mahapurkhs are going to do positive things regardless of the fact they are getting recognition for it or not. Sants do not need the world on their side, even if the whole world was to become nindaks (slanderers) of a Sant, a Sant never leaves the path of Waheguru. It’s beyond the thinking of us Kalyugi Jeev, to even begin to contemplate the amount of seva Sant Mahapurkhs have done, are still doing today whether it be in the public eye or in gupt-roop.
Please forgive us if we have made any mistakes.
