Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,
Outside Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj’s Bhora Sahib a large snake would appear at frequent times during the day. The Sikh Sevadaars of Sant Ji Maharaj explained that a large snake appears at certain times and thus suggested Sant Ji Maharaj do something about the snake as it could cause damage to local Sikh residents and Sangat. Sant Ji Maharaj explained to the Sevadaars to take a drop of water out of Sant Ji Maharajs’ Garrhva (water pot) and drop it on the snake’s head as it arrives.
Following this command, the Sikh Sevadaars did as so. As soon as the drop hit the snake’s head, the snake passed away. The Sikhs shocked at what they had just seen, asked Sant Ji Maharaj what had just happened and what the origins of this snake’s spirits were. Sant Ji Maharaj explained (The 6th Guru, Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji Maharaj had come to the village of Rara during their lifetime) “When Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji Maharaj came here, the snake, who was then a human, was a very rich Chaudary who through his own ego refused to come and pay respect to Guru Sahib Ji Maharaj. His intentions were focused solemnly on himself and his wealth. Gurbani says that those whose intentions go into Maya (money) in their last moments, receive the life form of a snake. There are countless species of snakes which this individual has been suffering through over the past few centuries. It is only now after he has dropped his ego and constantly begged for forgiveness and liberation, that he has received such a blessing.”
