Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,
Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj was travelling to a Divaan in a car. The driver of the car was casually looking outside his window, when he noticed a Sikh man who was pasting posters on a wall. When he looked closer, the driver noticed that the posters were slandering Sant Ji Maharaj and telling the Sikh Sangat (congregation) to boycott the programs of Sant Ji Maharaj.
The driver immediately turned to Sant Ji Maharaj and others seated in the car and pointed them to the direction of the poster. Others seated in the car became restless and asked Sant Ji Maharaj whether they should go attack the Sikh pasting the posters. Sant Ji Maharaj told them to keep calm and said – “He is not at fault. He is unaware. He is just trying to earn some money.”
Sant Ji Maharaj approached the Sikh. The Sikh began to feel scared and intimidated, however, scaring and oppressing others was not Sant Ji Maharaj’s nature. Sant Ji Maharaj instead proceeded to ask the Sikh for a poster and paid him.
Sant Ji Maharaj returned to the car and carried on to their Divaan. Upon arriving at the venue, Sant Ji Maharaj told the organisers of the Divaan, that if they wished for the Kirtan to go ahead, they would have to allow for the poster slandering Sant Ji Maharaj, to be put on the entrance, so that all the Sangat may see it.
Those who follow and live up to the true path have to put up with many difficulties and opposition within this world. However, if one begins to think that Sant Mahapurkh are affected by slanderers then that is a very big mistakes. Jathedar Mohinder Singh Ji (Dholki player of Sant Ji Maharaj) once asked Sant Ji Maharaj as to why so many people slander them, Sant Ji Maharaj replied – “The human body is worthless, it’s full of Rheum (eye crumbs) and snot. Of course people are going to slander it.” However Jathedar Mohinder Singh Ji insisted Sant Ji Maharaj give them a proper answer. And so, Sant Ji Maharaj gave bachan – “Jathedar Ji, the slanderers can attempt to say/do what they want but they cannot affect me, however if I attempt to say/do anything to the slanderers, then nothing will be left of them.”
If Sant Mahapurkh wished to, they could use their spiritual powers to destroy slanders before they even are capable of saying anything. However, Sant Mahapurkh have not come on this planet to send people to hell and punish people, but instead have come to save as many people as possible and reunite them with the eternal Lord Waheguru.
There was once a Mahapurkh who went by the name of Mahatma Budh. It’s said that this Mahapurkh used to never get angry no matter what and would always remain in a peaceful/calm state of mind. Mahatma Budh Ji were doing Katha within Sangat, when a woman walked in who appeared to be pregnant. She began to scream and shout within the Sangat and said to Mahatma Budh Ji – “Before you used to say that you love me and would always be on my side. Where are you now? Aren’t you responsible enough to look after your child?” These enraged Mahatma Budh Ji’s Sevadars and they were all looking at one another with anger. They requested Mahatma Budh Ji to give them permission to attack this woman and teach her a lesson. Mahatma Budh Ji insisted they remain calm. These enraged the Sevadars even more at the fact that Mahatma Budh Ji had not responded! Mahatma Budh Ji insisted they stay patient. The woman making the accusations was in the impression that she had won and humiliated Mahatma Budh Ji, however to her astonishment, the large pan she had tied across her waist and was claiming as a pregnant baby, became loose and fell to the ground. Her lies were exposed and she was left shameless. To conclude, if we chop down nature (the earth, trees etc.) – Nature doesn’t respond. In the same way, if we attempt to slander Sant Mahapurkh they do not respond. The clouds can be in vast numbers and hide the Sun for a temporary amount of time, however, when the Sun shines and reveals itself to its peak, there is not one cloud in sight. The slanderers may be in their vast amounts and can attempt to humiliate and disgrace a Sant. However when that Sant reveals his spiritual wealth, there is not a slanderer in sight.
Please forgive us for any mistakes.
