#155 “Life in lifeless objects”

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,

Giani Thakur Singh Ji (Damdami Taksal) whilst doing Katha on Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj (Rara Sahib Wale)’s Jeevan shared an occurrence that they heard whilst visiting Calcutta:

Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj visited a home in Calcutta and noticed that the daughter of the family had a problem whereby water would not stop falling from her eyes. Sant Ji Maharaj asked her father what the problem was to which he explained that they had tried numerous remedies and medication. Despite all these countless attempts, water would simply not stop shedding from her eyes.

Sant Ji Maharaj finished eating their Parshada and after washing their hands, they wiped their hands with a handkerchief and gave it to the man. Sant Ji Maharaj instructed the family to commit to Ishnaan and Nitnem every morning and after having done so, to wipe the girl’s eyes with the handkerchief. The family obliged and in time the girl was healed.

Giani Thakur Singh Ji described Sant Ji Maharaj’s blessings as putting “life in lifeless objects”, whatever small item they gave to an individual, whether it be a handkerchief or money, that mere object became capable of erasing an individual’s pain and tensions.

Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj says in Raag Gauri Ang 188: “SANT KI DHOORH MITHE AGH KOT” (The dust of the Saints, wipes away millions of sins).

Please forgive us for any mistakes.
