Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,
Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji (Pehowa Wale) whilst studying at Modi College (Patiala), requested permission from Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj (Rara Sahib Wale) to renounce their education and live a life of detachment and full commitment to Sikhi. Sant Ji Maharaj assured Baba Ji that this was not the way and to continue with their studies until completion. Sant Ji Maharaj then further explained that in today’s modern era, education is vital.
Even though Sant Ji Maharaj had given blessings to Baba Ji regarding the future and Sikhi Parchar, Sant Ji Maharaj was insistent that Baba Ji first complete their studies. The reason for this is that in today’s era, even for a Parcharak, it is very important to have significant knowledge on worldly aspects of life as well as spiritual. Having an educated background provides a platform of recognition and respect for a Parcharak – it shows that the Parcharak is committed and not simply doing Sikh Parchar as a last resort to gain money.
There are many different types of personalities within the Sangat, some of which come purely to assess the faults within the Parcharak’s discourse’s. Hence, it is important that the Parcharak is educated enough to give relevant responses and provide examples that we can relate to in our modern day lives.
In following Sant Ji Maharaj’s Bachan, Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji completed their worldly education and after the heavenly abode of Sant Ji Maharaj, Baba Ji alongside Sant Baba Mohan Singh Ji (Langaran Wale) spent 9 years conduction intense meditation at the village Jurassi (Pehowa, Haryana).
Please forgive us for any mistakes.
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio.
