Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,

It is said that many of the places where Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj (Rara Sahib Wale) conducted Kirtan, have been transformed from vacant land into either Gurdwara Sahib’s, schools, hospitals or other institutions.

In one such occurrence, the Sangat was keen on organising Sant Ji Maharaj’s Kirtan Diwaans in Ludhiana. At the time, there was false propaganda being stirred about Sant Ji Maharaj and so some Gurdwara committees were reluctant on booking Sant Ji Maharaj’s Kirtan – the larger Gurdwara Sahib’s even went to the extent of refusing Sant Ji Maharaj’s Kirtan from taking place.

The organisers informed Sant Ji Maharaj of this happening and requested them to grant some grace in allowing for a Kirtan Diwan to take place. Sant Ji Maharaj told the organisers to search for a neutral venue – a spot upon where no one has the authority to stop a Kirtan Diwan from taking place. The organiser Sevadars were unable to think of such a place and again requested Sant Ji Maharaj to choose. Sant Ji Maharaj replied that if it as come to this and that there is no other space to accommodate for the Sangat, then the Kirtan Diwan must take place in a graveyard.

Accepting Sant Ji Maharaj’s order, the Kirtan Diwan was scheduled to take place in the graveyard. Today, what was once a graveyard, is now a Gurdwara Sahib. The effect of Sant Ji Maharaj carrying out Katha/Kirtan was so influential that through the chanting of Naam-Baani, vacant, lowly and even slightly scary venues were transformed into venues whereby either society can benefit from or attain peace from.

Please forgive us for any mistakes.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio.
