Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,
During Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj (Rara Sahib Wale)’s tour of Southall (England), an elderly lady approached Sant Ji Maharaj to express her sorrows.
This occurrence was outside Southall Gurdwara where there was a tree with leaves that had begun to fall off and the tree itself appeared as though it was in its final stages. The lady went on to express how her home was full of pain and sorrow.
Sant Ji Maharaj replied to the lady –
“O Mother! In front of you is the Guru’s house, there is ongoing Kirtan occurring here. In the Gurdwara, even dying trees become lively and fruitful, let alone our pains and sorrows!”
ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤੁ ਸਫਲਾ ਘੜੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
Fruitful is that moment, and fruitful is that time, when one is in love with the True Lord.
ਦੂਖੁ ਸੰਤਾਪੁ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
Suffering and sorrow do not touch those who have the Support of the Name of the Lord.
ਬਾਹ ਪਕੜਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਾਢਿਆ ਸੋਈ ਉਤਰਿਆ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
Grasping him by the arm, the Guru lifts them up and out, and carries them across to the other side. ||3||
The lady understood that Sant Ji Maharaj was explaining to her to maintain faith within Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj and so continued her routine of attending the Gurdwara to carry out Seva and Simran. A few days later the lady witnessed Sant Ji Maharaj’s sayings become true whereby the dying tree had become luscious. The lady explained how her sorrows had vanished thanks to the reinforcement of faith in Guru Ji Maharaj that Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji had instilled within her.
She narrated this happening to Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji (Pehowa Wale) during Baba Ji’s recent tour of England. Please forgive us for any mistakes.
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio.
