Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,

A very poor devotee came to visit Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj (Rara Sahib Wale) to express his sorrow at the fact that he did not have enough money to fund his daughter’s upcoming wedding. Not being able to endure the man’s pain, Sant Ji Maharaj began stacking piles of 10,000 rupees in front of the man. Sant Ji Maharaj carried on piling money and the man was assured that he now had more than sufficient funds for his daughter’s wedding. However despite this, Sant Ji Maharaj was still continuing to pile money to which Sant Ji Maharaj’s Sevadar said to the man – “Give Sant Ji the assurance that you now have enough money, otherwise they won’t stop stacking it! They have no attachment to money and are very very compassionate!”

Some ignorant individuals curse Sant Mahapurkh for having too much attachment to money and will say things such as, “If so and so is a Sant, why does he need so much money? Shouldn’t they be detached?” However, as illustrated in this Sakhi, a Sant does not accumulate money to support themselves in a comfortable lifestyle, but instead money and other resources are accumulated to relieve the Sangat of troubles and pains they may be succumb to.

Please forgive us for any mistakes.
