Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,

As mentioned in previous posts on this website, Chotte Maharaj Ji Sant Baba Kishan Singh Ji Maharaj (Rara Sahib Wale) remained ill for a majority of their life – undergoing many operations and being succumb to many illnesses.

In one such instant, Sant Baba Kishan Singh Ji Maharaj was undergoing an operation to their head. The operation involved the doctor extracting skin from Chotte Maharaj Ji’s thigh and sewing it to the damaged area.

Before starting the operation, the doctor maintained conversation with Chotte Maharaj Ji, discussing many topics. The doctor had a doubt in his mind regarding a saying in the Daily Sikh Ardas. He asked Chotte Maharaj Ji – “Baba Ji, in the Ardas that Sikhs carry out there is a mention of Those who underwent torture (being cut limb by limb, having their scalps removed, being made to sit in boiling hot pots etc.) and did not utter a sound of grief from their mouths. I accept that the Sikhs underwent such tortures at the hands of the Moghul Empire, however is it true that they didn’t show any signs of grief or experience any pain, or is this something just extra that has been attached to the Ardas?” Chotte Maharaj Ji dismissed the doubt by assuring the doctor that this was true.

The doctor however was not convinced, he went on further to say – “When one undergoes an injection or the pinch of a thorn, it is a natural response to express pain. Therefore, how can you say that even when undergoing such extreme measures of pain and torture, that those Sikhs didn’t experience any pain?!”

Chotte Maharaj Ji was not prepared to listen to anymore from the mouth of the doctor and would now show the doctor on a practical level the capabilities of a Sikh. Chotte Maharaj Ji went on to say – “Listen here, I do not fall into the categories of those amazing Sikhs – I am simply a poor Sikh who tries to meditate on Waheguru Naam. I am a very poor Sikh of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, however I am capable of addressing this doubt of yours. When you carry out this operation on me, when you are extracting skin from my body and sewing skin elsewhere, do not apply an anaesthetic on me. Do not give me such an injection or tablet that will put me to sleep or put me in the position whereby I do not experience the pain with.”

And so in accordance to this, the doctor carried out the operation and remained crying whilst doing it. After witnessing no change in Chotte Maharaj Ji’s condition or facial expression, he concluded – “We used to value Jesus Christ as being such an high entity due to His endurance of much suffering on the cross. However, when we look at the Sikh Community, all these individuals have such qualities – they are fearless individuals!”

Within the Gurmukh is intuitive peace and poise; his mind ascends to the Tenth Plane of the Akaashic Ethers.
