Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,

With the establishment of Gurdwara Karamsar (Rara Sahib), the Langar Maryada was imposed on a daily basis. One Saintly man would come into the Langar every day, however, he would only come and ask for something to eat, when the Langar was at it’s peak and there would be nothing prepared to eat. Upon arriving, he would ask the Laangri Singh’s (Sikh devotees doing selfless service within the Langar) whether there is Roti (Chapatti bread) available to eat. The Singh’s would reply with – “I’m afraid there is nothing available at the moment, if you’d have arrived earlier, perhaps yes.”

The Saint would then reply with – “If there is flour give me flour, if there is milk give me milk, if there is water give me water and if there is sugar give me sugar.” The Singh’s would present the Saint with all these things, to which the Saint would request for them to all be put in a bucket and mixed together. The Saint would then consume the mixture and leave.

This occurred 2-3 times. On the 3rd occasion, the Singh’s explained the unusual behaviour of this Saint to Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj. Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj replied with “Next time this Saint comes, make sure to call me.”

A few days passed and the Saint returned and said – “If there is flour give me flour, if there is milk give me milk, if there is water give me water and if there is sugar give me sugar.” The Singh’s served the Saint as requested and told him that Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj wished to meet him. They made a humble request to the Saint to wait just 2 minutes, whilst they went and called Sant Ji Maharaj.

The Singh’s told Sant Ji Maharaj that the Saint had arrived. Upon the arrival of Sant Ji Maharaj to the Langar, the Saint had disappeared. Sant Ji Maharaj asked where he had gone. The Singh’s pointed at the direction where he was seated and were confused as to why the Saint had left. Sant Ji Maharaj then replied – “Singho, this was not a normal Saint, it was Akaal Purkh Waheguru himself, who had come to the Langar to test you and your services. From today, there must be a strict 24 hour Langar with enough food prepared to serve 100 people at all times!”
