Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,

For anyone who chose to stay permanently at Gurdwara Karamsar, Rara Sahib, Sant Ji Maharaj gave them the following instructions: All individuals were to awake at 2AM and have an Ishnan. No one was allowed to return to their rooms after having had an Ishnan and regardless of the weather conditions or seasons, all were to arrive on the Gurdwara grounds within 45 minutes and be required to remain in Darbar Sahib until 5:00AM. At 2:45 AM, the Singh who duty it was would administer who has arrived and compile a register, if someone failed to arrive by this time, they were considered absent. On a weekly basis, this list would be shown to Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj, who would then reassure those that missed their Amritvela Jaap on the importance of Amrit Vela and Gurbani through various Bachans.

It was mandatory for all to be in the Darbar Sahib from 2:45AM-5AM, individuals would carry out Jaap of Gurbani, Gur-Mantar Waheguru or Mool Mantar in accordance to the method they had been taught by Sant Ji Maharaj – reaching different stages in line with their Abhiyaas. At 5AM, Asa Di Vaar Kirtan would begin and present Sikhs would achieve much bliss from the Kirtan. After the Kirtan, there would be Katha of Gur-Shabad followed by Langar. After consuming Langar, the Sevadars would be present for their daily duties – whether it be Gurbani Santhya, Nitnem or other forms of Seva.

The Sevadars were given 2 hours to rest in the day and were required to arrive for the evening Divan of Sri Rehras Sahib followed by Kirtan or Katha. In accordance to the season, the Divan would finish in between 9PM or 10PM. The Sikh Sevadars would then carry on Gur-Shabad Abhiyaas until 11PM whereafter they were allowed to go to sleep. Sant Ji Maharaj was insistent on ensuring that the Sevadars do not waste any time – giving them 5 hours to sleep in the day (3 at night and 2 in the day) and devoting 19 hours of their day in Seva and Simran. The strict protocols that Sant Ji Maharaj implemented into these Sevadars was intrumental in helping them improve their Gursikh Jeevans.
